Merit Calculator — Free Online Student Tools
Free merit calculator for Pakistani admissions. Enter Matric, FSc and entry test marks, pick the formula and compare with last year's closing merit.
Always check the formula in your university's admission notice. Universities change it.
Extra marks (only if your admission notice gives them)
Some admissions add marks to FSc for Hafiz-e-Quran or similar. Enter the marks and the total they are added to, exactly as the notice says. Leave empty if not.
Take it from the university's final merit list. If you apply on a quota seat, use that quota's own closing merit.
How merit is calculated
Most Pakistani admissions turn each result into a percentage, multiply it by its weight, and add the parts. Example with 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% test: Matric 1,050/1,200 = 87.5%, FSc 980/1,200 = 81.67%, test 165/200 = 82.5%. Merit = 8.75 + 32.67 + 41.25 = 82.67%.
Quota seats
A quota (for example sports, disability, minority or overseas) does not add marks. It reserves seats, and those seats have their own merit list. Your merit stays the same; compare it with the closing merit of the quota you apply on.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is merit calculated in Pakistan?
Each result is turned into a percentage and multiplied by its weight, then the parts are added. For MDCAT the weights are 10% Matric, 40% FSc and 50% test. Universities publish their own formula in the admission notice.
Does a quota add marks to my merit?
No. A quota reserves seats with a separate merit list. Your merit stays the same; compare it with that quota's closing merit.
Is there extra merit for Hafiz-e-Quran?
Some admissions add marks for Hafiz-e-Quran, but the amount and the rules differ by university and province. Use the extra-marks box only with the number given in your admission notice.
Where do I find last year's closing merit?
From the university's final merit list for your program and seat type. It changes every year, so use it as a rough guide only.
What is the difference between merit and aggregate?
They usually mean the same thing: your combined weighted percentage. The Aggregate Calculator has ready formulas for MDCAT, NUMS, UHS, ECAT and NUST.
